HELLSAW was founded in 2002 by Aries (vocals, guitar, bass) and Svart (drums) in Austria. Both founding members were at this time also involved in the Black Metal band SANGUIS which Aries left in 2005 due to the much bigger artistical challenge in HELLSAW. Musically the focus is on raw, old school, but very melodic black metal and lyrical themes are nature, hatred and sadness. The first sign of life was the debut release of "Sins Of Might" - which resulted in the first live appearance with NOCTE OBDUCTA in Graz/Austria. After the successful introduction on stage, the band supported Nargaroth and Forgotten Tomb amongst others. Due to the fact of being a 2 piece with only session members joining, playing live was quite difficult until then but Aries and Svart finally found permanent session members for shows. In the end of 2004 new material was recorded for the official debut release "Spiritual Twilight" to be released worldwide through BLACK ATTAKK (Germany) in September 2005!   The band is working on their stage appearance right now and will surely be touring extensively throughout 2006.
